TAPIACO / MARAVALLI / KOLLI OMAPODI


Though diwali reminds me of lights, crackers, new clothes, distributing sweets to neighbors…..on the other side movies  and diwali releases the whole city looks festive which sets the diwali mood .The best part I enjoy is making sweets/savouries at home and it has become even more special  for me when I make these with an unique and in my own style.  And sharing these recipes with you all  gives much satisfaction and happiness to me. For this Diwali i prepared our own omapodi with Tapiaco / maravalli / kolli powder. lets check out the recipe. INGREDIENTS
Gram Flour                –  1 cup
Tapiaco powder          -   2 cups
Rice Flour                   – 1 cup
Asafoetida Powder    – 1/2 tsp
Omam (Carom Seeds)  – 2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder       – 2 tsp
Butter                         - 2 tsps
Oil                               - for deep frying
Salt                              - as per taste





METHOD

Sieve gram flour, tapiaco powder, rice flour through a finr siever separately.
Add  all the other ingredients  and make a thick dough by adding sufficient water.
Make portions of the dough, and add some dough to the oma podi maker and press over hot oil.
 Cook on both sides till golden and light brown.
 Remove from oil and drain the excess oil.
Yummy unique Tapiaco / Kolli / Kappa Omapodi is read to serve.

 Store in a air tight container.
