GOBI MUTTER PULAO/ CAULIFLOWER GREEN PEAS RICE

A flavourful and hearty one pot meal for your lunch. A quick recipie for all working mothers. Gobi mutter pulao/ cauliflower peas rice. It just takes few minutes to cook this tasty pulao. This pulao is aromatic and has a mild sweet taste of green peas and can be made with fresh or frozen peas. For best results, i would suggest you to use good quality fresh green peas for this recipe.Frozen peas lose their flavour and taste over a period of time.

INGREDIENTS

Cauliflower florettes                                                  - 1 cup
Green peas                                                                      - 1 cup
Onion                                                                                - 2 nos (finely chopped)
Ginger garlic paste                                                       - 1 tbsp
Cooked rice                                                                     - 2 cups 
Red chilli powder                                                          - ½ tsp
Coriander powder                                                         - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder                                                 - 1 tsp
Cumin powder                                                                 - ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder                                                            - ¼ tsp
Salt                                                                                         - to taste

FOR SEASONING

Oil                                                                                           - 1 tbsp
Ghee                                                                                       - 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds(perun cheerakam/ sombu)             - 1 tsp









METHOD


Heat oil and ghee in a kadai add fennel seeds, when it splutters add chopped onions and a pinch of salt.
Fry the onions till translucent, add ginger garlic paste and saute  for two minutes.
Add the cauliflower florettes ,green peas, turmeric powder and sprinkle some water and cook till tender.
Add  garam masala powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt to the cooked vegetables.
Mix well and sauté it till the moisture is absorbed.
Finally mix the cooked rice to the  cooked vegetables and mix it gently.
Gobi mutter pulao/ cauliflower peas rice is ready to serve.
Garnish it with onion rings and serve hot with any of your desired accompaniments.

 NOTE

Cooked cauliflower florettes and green peas should be firm, it should not lose its shape.
Cooked rice grains should be seperate.
