Instant Honey payasam is easy to prepare and prepared with honey and jaggery.  As we cook  the rice and jiggery separately in the pressure cooker, this wont take much time to cook like other payasam. Taste of honey jiggery and ghee gives you the divine taste.


Hand pound rice                    - ½ cup
Grated jiggery                          - 1 cup
Honey                                         - 1 cup     
Ghee                                            - 4 tbsps + 1 tbsp for frying cashews
Cashews                                     - 10 nos
Cardamom powder             - ½ tsp
Dry ginger powder              - 2 pinches

Wash the rice and Pressure cook adding 2 cups of water.
Add 1/3 cup of water to the grated jiggery and keep this in the pressure cooker in a separate pan along with the rice.
Cook the rice and jiggery for 6 to 8 whistles.
Open the cooker after the pressure has been released , strain the melted jiggery and mix with the cooked rice.
Cook over the medium flame, adding honey with 2 tbsp of ghee for 5 to 10 minutes.
Add cardamom powder and dry ginger powder and  add remaining ghee and mix well.
Fry the cashews in ghee and add it to the payasam.
 Instant Honey payasam is ready for naivedyam.
