RADISH ARROWROOT DHODAL

DHODAL is a sweet dish prepared with rice flour, coconut milk and jiggery as the main ingredients. It is uaually time consuming to prepare. I have posted the easy version of dhodal in my blog.

With the base idea of Dhodal I have prepared today another version of this dhodal with arrowroot powder  radish and sugar, instead of rice powder and jiggery.
Easy to prepare and tasty to eat. Try out this Radish Arrowroot Dhodal and put in your feed back.








INGREDIENTS

Arrowroot powder       - 1 ¼ cup
Finely grated radish/ daikon/ mullangi  - ½ cup
 Milk                                                         - 1 ½ cups
Water                                                        - 1 ½ cups
Sugar                                                         - 1 cup
Cardamom powder                                   - ½ tsp                       
Ghee                                                         - 1 tbsp











METHOD

Grease a plate or tray with 2 tsps of ghee and keep aside.
In a pan boil the milk.
Meanwhile mix the arrowroot powder in 1 ½ cups of water without any lumps.
Add the grated radish to the boiling milk and cook for 3 minutes.
Add the arrowroot powder mixed with water to the boiling raddish milk and mix well.
.After 2 minutes  put the sugar and stir well.
The arrowroot radish  will start thickening..
Lower the heat and continue to stir for 2 more minutes.
Sprinkle the cardamom powder  and mix well..
Remove from  heat and transfer the radish arrowroot dodhal to the pre-greased tray. Pour in the remaining  ghee  and spread and flatten the dodhal with the greased bottom of a spoon.
Keep  aside to cool.
Yummy arrowroot Raddish Dhodhal is ready  to be cut into pieces Cut into any shape as per your wish.
. Garnish it with some cherries and serve.
