HOMEMADE MULTIGRAIN HEALTH MIX POWDER / SATHUMAAVU MOR KALI


More Kali or More Koozh is a very old traditional recipe. Traditionally it is made with rice flour and buttermilk(slightly sour).For a change I have tried with sathu maavu /Homemade l multigrain health mix powder, that too with home made. This is a healthy dish for all age groups, particularly for weight conscious people. Do try it out.






INGREDIENTS

Multigrain powder                 - ½ cup
Sour buttermilk                       - 1 ½ cups
Finely chopped onion           - 1 no
Green chilli ginger paste       - 1 tbsp
Salt                                                  - to taste

FOR SEASONING

Coconut oil                - 2 tbsps
Mustard seeds           - 1 tsp
Urad dal                       - ½ tsp
Curry leaves               - 1 sprig
Red chillies                - 2  nos
Asafetida powder    - a pinch

METHOD

Dry roast   multigrain flour for few seconds and remove from the heat.
Mix buttermilk and  flour in a bowl without any  lumps. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and season it with broken red chilies, mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
Add  ginger green chilli paste and fry for a minute, add asofeotid and add chopped onions and fry till onion becomes transperent on low flame.
Add flour and  buttermilk mixture and mix frequently to avoid lumps and cook in a low medium flame and cook till the mixture should leave the sides of pan.
To check  it, take some  mor kali and touch it with wet finger. It should not stick to your finger. If its sticking, then cook for another few mins.
Remove from flame. Pour this mixture on a greased plate and cut into desired shapes.
Garnish it with roasted peanuts
 Serve hot.
