Home made health drink powder or Sathu maavu is flavourful, tasty inexpensive and a versatile one.With this sathu maavu we can make dosa, laddus,even puttu (which i have already posted the recipie under festival special). This recipe I got it from my mom. She regularly gives me this drink as my daily breakfast till today I'm having this as my breakfast, and my sons too have this daily .

This can be served either with milk and sugar or buttermilk and salt. It is very healthy and is suitable for all ages.
It helps to increases bone strength .
It helps to lose weight, control blood pressure, controls diabetes ,reduce cholesterol .
It has the good source of protein and amino acids,treats aneamia, reverts skin ageing .
For the lactating mothers it helps to increase lactation.
This powder has a shelf life of 3-4 months at room temperature. If kept in the freezer, it can be kept for more than 6 months.
INGREDIENTS FOR MULTIGRAIN POWDER
Finger millet/Ragi -1/4 kg

Foxtail millet(thinai) - 1/4 kg
Green gram(whole) (pachai payaru) - 1/4 kg
Green gram dal (paasiparuppu) - 1/4 kg
Wheat - 1/4 kg
Fried gram /pottukadalai- 100 grams
Barley - 100 grams
Sago/jevarisi - 50 grams
Almonds or grounnuts-25 grams

Boil one cup of water
Foxtail millet(thinai) - 1/4 kg
Green gram(whole) (pachai payaru) - 1/4 kg
Green gram dal (paasiparuppu) - 1/4 kg
Wheat - 1/4 kg
Fried gram /pottukadalai- 100 grams
Barley - 100 grams
Sago/jevarisi - 50 grams
Almonds or grounnuts-25 grams
METHOD FOR PREAPARING THE PORRIDGE POWDER
Wash finger millet/ragi well and soak it in water overnight.
Next day, rinse well , drain the water, tie it in a muslin cloth and hang it.
Leave it for sprouting. Rinse once in between.
After it has sprouted, rinse it again gently, drain the water and spread it on a cloth for drying. Dry it well either in the sun or in shade inside the house.
After it has dried well, dry roast it, till you get a nice aroma.
Repeat the same process as above for pearl millet, Green gram and Wheat.
Dry roast fried gram, barley, sago, and groundnut separately.
Now combine all and get it ground in the flour mill/rice mill.
Your porridge powder is ready.
METHOD FOR MAKING SWEET PORRIDGE
Water - 1 cup
Health mix powder - 2 tbsps
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar or jaggery - to taste
Boil one cup of water
Mix 2 tbsps of health mix powder with enough water without lumps.
Add this mixture to the boiling water.
Cook on low flame, stirring continuously until it starts thickening.
Then add milk and sugar. Your porridge/sathu maavu kanji is ready to drink.
METHOD FOR MAKING SAVOURY PORRIDGE
Mix 2 tbsps of health mix powder with enough water without lumps. Cook on low flame, stirring continuously until it starts thickening. Leave it to cool. Add diluted buttermilk and salt to taste.
NOTE
Roasting the sprouted ingredients is not must, just roast it till the moisture leaves that's enough.
Make sure you cool down completely after roasting.Once it cools down then store else it will let out moisture if you close and keep immediately.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what you’ve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. You’ve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
