VEGAN CHOCOLATE JUJUBES

A delicious candy every kids favourite not only kids some adult kids favourite too. This has nothing but fully loaded with sugar... When I was a kid and used to enjoy these jujubes, my dad used to get these colourful jujubes almost every week. Now that I know it, I have a big NO feeling to enjoy this!! But make this and your kids would be so excited and thrilled.. As I always say, if the kids want to enjoy jujubes, then home made is much more healthy than store bought.
INGREDIENTS

China Grass                           – 10 gms
Dark Chocolate                     – 100 gms
Sugar                                     – 1 cup
Water                                     – 3/4 cup + 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence                     – 1 tsp
Sugar                                     _ 2 tbsps

METHOD

Grate the chocolate and keep aside.
Grind the china grass coarsely in a mixer.
Heat 1/2 cup of water and soak the china grass for 1/2 hour.
Boil  3/4 cup water. Add the sugar and let it dissolve completely.
Now add the soaked china grass and cook for half an hour in a simmer flame stirring often in between.
When the china grass dissolves completely, it will become thick glossy, remove from fire and keep aside.
Melt the chocolate in a microwave or Let it melt over the double boiler till it becomes a smooth sauce.( Heat a pan with water and place the grated chocolate cup in it, when it melts completely remove from fire).
Remove from fire add this melted chocolate to the glossy china grass mixture and stir till the chocolate mixes completely adding vanilla essence.
Grease a plate and pour the chocolate china grass mixture into the plate and tap well. Allow it to come to room temperature.
With the cookie cutter cut the jujubes into desired shapes.
Sprinkle some sugar on the jujubes and press gently to get fully coated on both sides.
Yummy chocolaty jujubes are ready for your naughty chocolaty kids.

NOTES
You can add any essence of your choice other than vanilla essence.
If you are not having cookie cutter, you can cut the jujubes into thin strips or into square shapes with knife.
You can use cocoa powder instead of chocolates, if so the measurement of sugar should be of 1 ½ cups.
Instead of adding chocolate you can add strawberry crush or any other fruit crushes.
You can add artificial colors and essences if desired.Like orange colour and orange essence, yellow colour and mango essence, purple colour and grapes essence, pink colour and strawberry essence etc.
I don’t prefer to add artificial colours .
