VARAGU ARISI / KODO MILLET MIRSANGE CHEESE BALLS

Varagu arisi  mirsange cheese ball is a konguni snack which I made a slight variation adding cheese to it.  Varagu arisi cheese ball is a mild and  a perfect tea time snack. The combination  of the capsicum and cheese tastes heavenly. And this snack is ofcourse a healthy one too because it is prepared with kodo millet / varagu arisi.




INGREDIENTS

Varagarisi / kodo millet                     - ½ cup
Raw rice                                                     - 1 cup
Urad dal                                                      - ¾ cup
Finely chopped capsicum                  - 1 no
Finely chopped curry leaves             - 2 tbsps
Finely chopped green chillies          - 2 nos
Grated ginger                                          - 1 tsp
Melted ghee                                              - 1 tbsp
Coarsely crushed cumin seeds         - 1 tsp
Coarsely crushed                                     - 1 tsp
Grated Processed cheese                 - 200 grams
Salt                                                             - to taste
Oil                                                              - for deep frying cheese balls






METHOD

Soak raw rice, varagu rice / kodo millet and urad dhal for two hours, and grind to smooth paste.
Add other ingredients to the batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan and make round balls from the batter and deep fry it till golden colour.
Yummy cheese varagarisi mirsange balls are ready to serve
Serve hot with tomato sauce or any chutneys.
