Appam is one of the important naivedhyam dish for Krishna
Jayanthi festival. Nei Appam is one of the famous dish in Kerala.
We usually make nei appam for many occasions.
Traditionally we prepare nei appams/ kuzhi paniyarams
with rice flour. For a change I have prepared nei appams/kuzhi paniyarams with
samba wheat rava with coconut milk which is healthier and easier too. Try this and enjoy this Krishna Jayanthi
with this samba wheat rava nei appams.
INGREDIENTS
Samba wheat rava -
1/2 cup
Rice flour -
½ cup
Cardamom powder -
2 pinches
Salt - pinch
Jiggery - ¾ cup
Coconut milk -
¼ cup
Water - less than ¼
cup
Banana - 1 small
Cooking oil/ ghee -to prepare nei appam /kuzhi
paniyarams
METHOD
Heat ¼ cup of water in a pan and melt the jiggery in it.
Strain the melted jiggery and keep aside.
In a blender or mixer add samba wheat rava, rice flour,
banana pieces, cardamom powder, salt, coconut milk and the melted jiggery.
Blend it till everything is incorporated well.
Keep this mixture aside for 20 to 30 minutes.
Heat a paniyaram pan, and pour needed oil or ghee , and
pour the batter in the pan.
The batter should be of 3/4th of the mould.
Cook in a low
flame till it gets golden colour.
Yummy healthy samba wheat rava nei appam/kuzhi paniyarams
are ready for naivedyam.
