THINAI KUZHI PANIYARAM ( foxtail millet kuzhi paniyaram )

Foxtail (thinai) millet, one of our traditional food, which were forgotten with time.
Foxtail  millets are high in dietary fibre .It helps to reduce the blood sugar levels and also cholestrols in our body .This is gluten free and rich in protein , mineral and calcium . Its highly rich in anti oxidation which removes all the acidic elements away from the body .
With this cheaply available millet i have made some yummy kuzhi paniyarams for this navaratri .




INGREDIENTS

Thinai  (Foxtail Millet)    - 1/2 cup
par boiled rice                  - 1/2 cup
Urad dal                            - 1/4 cup
jaggery                               - 3/4 cup
grated coconut                   - 3 tbsps
cardamom powder              - 1/2 tsp
salt                                      - a pinch
ghee or oil                           - for deep frying.

METHOD

soak thinai for two hours .
soak urad dal and rice together for two hours .
Grind thinai , rice, and urad dal together .
Add jaggery , coconut and salt .
keep aside the batter for two hours .
After two hours , preapare paniyarams in a paniyaram pan with ghee or oil .
cook the paniyarams in medium flame till the paniyarams become golden brown .
