BENGALI CHOCOLATE SANDESH

Sandesh is a delicious Bengali dessert prepared with milk and sugar .It is a sweet dessert that can be seen in a bengali household for any indian celebration .For the chocolate lovers and for the kids, I have preapared this Bengali sandesh with melted chocolate.

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING PANEER OR INDIAN COTTAGE CHEESE

 whole milk           -1 litre
 lemon juice or vinegar – 2 tbsps
   ice cold water      - 1 litre

METHOD

Bring the milk to a boil, pour the  diluted lemon juice and mix.(dilute 2 tbsp juice with 2 tbsp water.)
Let the milk curdle. Switch off the stove and leave it for 2 mins. If the milk doesn’t curdle in 2 to 3 mins, add some more lemon juice while the milk is still boiling.
Add ice cubes or chilled water to the curdled milk. Leave it aside for 2 to 3 minutes
Filter and collect the cheese in a muslin cloth.
Rinse the cheese under running water .
Tie up the cloth and hang it for 45 minutes and drain excess water. Cheese should not have any water in it.
Knead the cheese well with one tablespoon of maida to make it a smooth dough.


INGREDIENTS FOR BENGALI CHOCOLATE SANDESH

Paneer                                                                        - 1 cup
Dark chocolate or milk chocolate chopped        - 100 grams
Butter                                                                          - 1 tbsp


 METHOD FOR BENGALI CHOCOLATE SANDESH
Heat a pan with medium flame and melt the chocolate  and butter stirring continuously.
Once cooled, mix paneer and the melted chocolate well .
Heat a pan on medium heat and add the well mixed chocolate paneer mixture and stircontinously until it comes together like a dough .(the dough will leave the sides of the pan )turn off the heat and let it cool completely .
Put it in the mixie to make it smooth and prepare round shaped sandesh or any other shape as you wish .
