Let’s welcome
this summer with some home made squash. During summers, I prepare squashes and
syrups like lemon, grapes, orange etc.This
lemon squash recipe does not contain citric
acid and sodium benzoate. An easy lemon
squash without preservatives and additives.
INGREDIENTS
Lemon juice - 1 cup or 500 grams -
Sugar - 2 cups or 500
grams -
Water -
1 cup
METHOD
Heat 1 cup of
water in a pan and add 2 cups of sugar on a low flame.
Stir continuously
so that the sugar dissolves.
The sugar solution
should be sticky when you touch it, remove from flame.
Strain the
sugar solution to remove impurities.
Allow the
sugar syrup to come to room temperature.
Meanwhile wash
the lemons and extract the juice from the lemon.
Strain the
lemon juice and add it to the sugar syrup and mix it well.(the sugar syrup
should be at room temperature.)
Pour the lemon
squash in a sterilized air tight bottles and refrigerate.
Home made lemon
squash is ready .
Whenever you
want lemon squash drink, mix 3 tbsps of squash in a glass and add water,stir well and serve with
some ice cubes.
VARIATIONS
You can add I tsp of cardamom powder to the
squash.Also add one or two saffron threads.

FOR STERILISING BOTTLES
Boil water in a pot
and place the bottle in the boiling water for 10 minutes and allow it to dry
and then pour your squash.
