DRUMSTICK LEAVES / MURINGAI KEERAI PANEER PULAO


Moringa leaves is commonly known as drumstick leaves. 
Drumstick leaves are very rich in iron, calcium and potassium. It’s is highly recommended as a diet supplement for people suffering from iron deficiency anaemia.
The power of reducing the sugar level in the blood is possessed by drumstick leaves.
 This is the healthy and tasty  recipe, for those  who don’t like muringai ilai / drumstick leaves.

INGREDIENTS

Basmati rice                                      – 1 cup
Moringa leaves                                 – 2 cups
Paneer                                                - 100 grams
Coconut milk                                     - 2 cups
Dry mango powder ( amchur)        – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder                     - 1/2 tsp 
Salt                                                    - to taste








INGREDIENTS FOR MASALA POWDER

White til               - 2 tbsps
Perumjeeragam / sunf   - 2 bsps
Garlic                              - 6 cloves
Dry roast the above and powder it in a mixie.


INGREDIENTS FOR SEASONING

Oil – 4  tsps
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Butter – 1 tbsp








METHOD

Wash the Moringa leaves well and drain it.
Dry roast he muringai leaves / drumstick leaves  in medium flame and powder it in mixie
Wash and soak basmati rice for 15-20 mins.
Drain and keep it aside.
Heat butter and oil in a pressure pan. Add cumin seeds. When it start spluttering, add coconut milk and allow it to boil.
Add soaked and  the drained basmati rice and add  moringa leaves powder, roasted til, saunf ,garlic powder,garam masala powder, aam choor powder, salt and mix well.
Reduce the flame close the pressure pan and wait till the steam comes
Put on the weight and pressure cook for 5 to 7 minutes and put off the flame.
Wait till the pressure is released and open the pan and add the paneer cubes and mix gently.
 Yummy, healthy Muringa \i keerai / drumstick leaves pulao is ready to serve.
Transfer to the serving bowl.
Garnish it with fried green chilli.
Serve hot with onion raita.
