PUMPKIN DOSA


We use pumpkins in vaiety of curries. Here I have prepared yummy dosa with pumpkin adding garlic, onion, garlic etc. a healthy option to the pumpkin dis likers. No need to ferment the batter, we can prepare dosas immediately after grinding. I have used raw pumpkin which I won’t remove the skin of the pumpkin.

INGREDIENTS

Raw rice                                 - 1/2 cup
Brown rice                              - ½ cup
Pumpkin, chopped                 -1 cup
Dry Red chillies                     -3 nos
Shallots / small onions         - 6 nos
Garlic                                      - 8 cloves
Cumin seeds                          - 1/2 teaspoon
 Salt                                         - to taste
Oil                                           - to cook dosas







METHOD

Wash and soak the rice for  3 hours in enough water .
Drain the water ,add chopped pumpkin, dry red chillies, shallots/ small onions, garlic, cumin seeds,  and salt to the mixer jar and grind to smooth paste, adding required water.
Transfer the batter inside the bowl and add about one to two cups or required of water to dilute the batter.
Heat a tawa and grease with oil; add a ladle full of batter and make concentric circles.
Drizzle with half a teaspoon of oil and roast the dosas till crispy.
It takes little longer time to cook than regular dosa.
Healthy pumpkin dosa is ready to serve. Serve hot with sambar or chutney as you wish.
