BAKED MURUKKU

Murukku is everyone ‘s favourite snack usually deep fried with cooking oil. But for a change I baked these murukkus  for this  Diwali. This baked version is for Diet conscious friends and weight watchers. And also saves time and no more mess in your kitchen .

INGREDIENTS

Rice flour                                             - 1 cup
Curd                                                      - ½ cup
Seasame seeds                                     - 2 tsps
Chilli powder                                        - 1 tsp
Asafetida                                                - two pinches
Salt                                                           - to taste



   
METHOD

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl , and mix well.
Knead everything into a semi-soft dough using enough water .
Put the dough into a murukku press to make spiral shapes ( work closely from the centre to the outside to the swirls ) in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper .
Bake these murukkus in a pre –heated oven at 180 degree centigrade for 30 to 35 minutes .
Turn the murukkus once after 15 to 20 minutes .

Your baked murukkus are ready to serve .
