THAIYRU CHADAM (CURD RICE / DAHI BATH)

CURD RICE  ( DAHI BATH )
INGREDIENTS

White raw rice                                                   - 1 ¼ cups
 Fresh thick curd (or) yoghurt                           - 3 cups

FOR SEASONING
Oil or ghee                                                          - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds                                                    - 1 ½ tsp
Asafetida powder                                               -1/4 tsp
Curry leaves                                                       - 2 sprigs
Mor milagai                                                       - 8 nos



METHOD

Wash the rice well . add five cups of water.
Add little salt and pressure cook till tender and it comes to porridge consistency .
 Allow it to cool well .
Add fresh thick curd and mix well  and refrigerate.
At the time of serving season it with mustard seeds . asafetida powder , curry leaves , and mor milagai .
In oil or ghee .
Mix well and serve with pickle .

VARIATIONS
CURD RICE CAN ALSO BE GARNISHED WITH GRATED CARROTS , CUCUMBER CORIANDER LEAVES FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES AND GINGER .
CAN BE GARNISHED WITH WELL FRIED GARLIC FLAKES IN GHEE FOR PREFERENCE .

 GREEN GRAPES , POMEGRANATE SEEDS CAN ALSO BE ADDED FOR GARNISHING .
