Vermicelli,are like thin spaghetti and used many different ways, making sweet and
savoury dishes.This vermicelli sheera is a delicious and quick dessert. This is made
for many festive occasions. For a change I have preapared this dessert with
sugarcane juice instead of sugar .So it is perfect mild sweet dessert for
diabetic friends.
INGREDIENTS
Vermicelli / semya -
1 cup
Sugarcane juice -
3 cups
Ghee -
3 tbsps
Cashewnuts -
10 to 15 nos
Cardamom powder - 2 pinches.
METHOD
Heat one table spoon of ghee in a pan and fry the cashews
till golden colour and keep aside.
In the same pan fry the vermicelli till golden colour and
keep aside.
Add the sugarcane juice to the pan, allow it to boil and add
the roasted vermicelli.
Cook the vermicelli in a medium flame in the sugarcane
juice.
When the kesari starts to thicken, add the ghee, the fried cashews and cardamom powderand
remove from flame.
Yummy sugarcane vermicelli sheera is ready to serve.
