HOME MADE NANNARI / SARASAPILLA SYRUP



Home made Nannari  / sarasapilla syrup, is the best, natural and hygienic summer coolant . Nannari Roots can be found in any country medicine stores. You can prepare mango nannari sharbeth, grapes nannari sharbeth etc. with this home made nannari syrup. Nannari syrup is  a natural refresher for this summer and it gives a unique taste.



INGREDIENTS
Nannari / Sarasapilla Root             – 100 grams
Sugar                          - 500 grams
Water                          – 5 cups

Lemon Juice              – 4  tsps




METHOD
Wash the roots several times by rubbing it in water well until the clay comes out of the root.
Dry it for a while until there is no moisture.
With the help of a mortar and pestle crush the roots so that the root breaks.
.Remove the white part and collect the brown part in a bowl.
Pulse the brown part in a mixer and keep aside.
Boil water, and.remove from flame and add the powdered  nannari roots.
Close the pan tightly with a lid and allow the roots be in water for overnight .
Strain in a muslin cloth  two times and make sure  that   the fine particles are strained.
Add sugar and mix well until it dissolves.
Now keep the syrup in medium flame  and allow it to boil until it reaches a string of single thread consistency. And remove from flame. (this will take 15 to 2o minutes to reach this consistency.)
The consistency will look more like honey.
Allow to Cool down completely and add lemon juice.
Transfer to a dry jar and refrigerate it.
Make use of it whenever you prepare juices, sherbet etc.
