ACHARI / PICKLED IDLI


Try out this achari / pickle idli. You can prepare this idli with any achaar / pickle of your choice. I have used goosberry / amla pickle.






INGREDIENTS
Good quality boiled rice                                - 1 cup
Urad dhal                                           - 1 cup
 Goosberry pickle                               1/8 cup
Green chillies                                     - 6 nos
Coconut gratings                               - ¼ cup
Gingelly oil                                         - 2 tbsps
Salt                                                      - to taste(adjust the salt accordingly the pickle contains salt.)




METHOD

Wash both rice and urad dhal and soak for about  five to six hours.
Grind coarsely adding enough water and salt .
Keep for fermentation overnight .
Grind the goose berry pickle and mix it with batter and mix all the other ingredients .
Pour the batter in a well greased idli moulds and steam for 20 minutes.
when cooked ,remove from flame and Serve hot with  vegetable stew.
