For this wonderful occasion of our 67th
Republic day I have preapared Tricoloured phirni Resembling saffron, white and
green colour of our National flag.Carrot halwa for saffron, rice powder white
chocolate phirni for white colour and green peas phirni for green colour.
Feel free to comment your suggestions after trying out
this recipe.
INGREDIENTS
Grated Carrots grated -2
cups
Blanched Green peas -1/4
cup
Rice powder - 2
tablespoons
Ghee - 2
tablespoons
Milk -1/2
cup + 4 tablespoons
Powdered sugar -1/2 cup
(powder
the sugar finely adding ½ tbsp of corn flour)
cardamom powder - 1/2
teaspoon
White chocolate chopped -4 tablespoons
Blanched
and chopped almonds - few to
garnish
Saffron
strands -
few
METHOD
TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE PHIRNI
Combine
rice powder and ½ cup milk in a bowl.
To
make white chocolate phirni, heat milk-rice powder mixture in a non-stick pan. Cook till it thickens.
Add
2 tbsps powdered sugar, one third of cardamom powder to the above mixture and mix well.
Add 2
tablespoons of white chocolate and mix well. Cook ona Simmer flame for few minutes and remove from fire.
Our
white chocolate phirni is ready .
METHOD
TO MAKE CARROT HALWA
Heat
1 tbsp ghee in a non-stick pan, add grated carrots and cook for ten minutes.
After
ten minutes add ¼ cup of powdered sugar and cook till the sugar melts.
Add
two tablespoons of milk and mix well.
Add
one ladle of white chocolate phirni and
a pinch of cardamom powder to the halwa and mix well.
Cook
on a sim flame for few minutes and remove from flame.
Carrot halwa is ready.

METHOD
TO MAKE GREEN PEAS PHIRNI
To
make green phirni, heat remaining ghee in another non-stick pan
Grind
blanched green peas with 3 tbsps water to a smooth puree. Add this puree to a
non sick pan and mix well. Cook for five to ten minutes.
Add
two tablespoons of milk and two tablespoons of powdered sugar to the above
mixture and mix well.
Add ¼ tsp cardamom powder and 2 tablespoons
white chocolate and mix well and remove from fire.
Our
green phirni is ready.
Pour
a portion of green peas phirni in individual cups or glasses, sprinkle few almonds.
Add a portion of white chocolate phirni, add few badams. Top it with a portion
of carrot halwa, sprinkle some more chopped almonds.
Our
tricoloured phirni is ready to serve.
