EGGLESS FUSION DESSERT STRAWBERRY FROZEN YOGHURT WITH GULABJAMMONS.

Frozen yoghurt is a frozen dessert made with yoghurt.  This is a fantastic dessert, if  made with home made yoghurt and also  a perfect summer dessert for kids. To give a traditional touch  I topped it with gulab jamoons. Jamoons with the frozen curd is a superb  combo.Try this coooooool dessert you will love this.

For this recipe I won second prize in a Valentine's day contest conducted by Fb group "Recipes of Palakkad" 

HOMEMADE EASY GULAB JAMOONS

INGREDIENTS FOR JAMOONS

Milk powder                            - 1 cup
Maida                                          - ¼ cup
Ghee or oil                                - 1 tsp
1 to 2 tbsp yogurt                    - 1 ½ tbsps

INGREDIENTS FOR THE SUGAR SYRUP

   Water                                                - 2 cups
   Sugar                                                - 1 ½ cups
  Powdered  cardamoms           - 3 nos
  Rose water                                   - 1tsp
 METHOD FOR PREPARING SUGAR SOLUTION
In a pan mix water, sugar, in a medium flame and allow it to boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
Add cardamom powder and rose water and keep aside.








METHOD FOR PREPARING JAMOONS
Mix the milk powder,maida in a bowl and add oil or ghee and1 tbsp of yogurt.
If the dough is dry then add some yogurt.
Make smooth small balls from the dough, lightly flatten it and cut it with the heart shape cutter.
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the heart shaped jamoons till golden colour in a medium flame.
Remove the fried jamoons in a slotted spoon and add It to the hot sugar syrup
Let them soak in the sugar syrup for minimum two hours.
Keep it in refregirator and allow it to chill for sometime.
Hearty gulab jamuns are ready to serve with the strawberry frozen yogurt.
STRAWBERRY FROZEN YOGURT
INGREDIENTS
Thick yogurt                       - 2 cups
Honey                                   - ½ cup
Strawberries                      -  500 grams
Fresh cream                       - ½ cup
Fresh cottage cheese     - ¼ cup

FOR  GARNISHING

Few cherries.







METHOD

Blend strawberries and honey to a smooth  paste, stain it and keep aside.
Blend yoghurt, fresh cream, fresh cottage cheese in a mixer and add the straw berry puree and mix it well.
Pour this mixture in heart shaped  moulds and freeze  for four to five hours or until firm.
Take out the frozen strawberry curd from the freezer and top it with hearty sweety  jamoons  and garnish with cherries.
Serve this cool frozen yoghurt with jamoons for your valentine and make a special valentine’s day.
