We make
different varieties of rotis like makkai ka roti, stuffed rotis etc. But rotis
with fruits are not so popular. This time I’ve tried rotis with the seasonal
jack fruit. For this recipe I have used quarter ripened jackfruit. If you like sweetness
use a semi-ripened to make the
rotis. No need of any accompaniments for this dish onion raita will do.So it
will be easier to prepare this jackfruit roti. Give feast to your taste buds with this unique
dish.
INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat atta - 2 cups
Salt -
to taste
Ghee -
2 tsps for dough + for frying rotis
INGREDIENTS TO BE BLENDED COARSELY
Chopped jack
fruit - 1 cup
Red chillies - 8 nos (adjust the chillies according to your spiciness)
Garlic - 3 cloves
Small onions - ¼ cup
Garam masala
powder - 1 tsp
Blend the above
ingredients coarsely and keep aside. Don’t add water.
METHOD
Take wheat flour
in a bowl and add ghee salt and mix
well.
Add the coarsely
blended jackfruit puree to the wheat flour and make a soft dough.
Make the dough
into equal portions bigger than lemon size.
Shape into a
ball and roll each ball into a round chappati with even thickness.
Repeat the same
process for the remaining balls.
Heat a tawa and
cook the rotis on both sides, smearing ghee.
remove from tawa
when it is cooked.
Yummy jackfruit
roti is ready.
Serve hot with
onion raitha or with any other accompaniments as you wish.
