BUTTER BEANS / MOCHAI KOTTAI GARLIC DOSAI


Butter beans / mochai, also known as butter beans are popular legumes that are known for their mild buttery flavor and meaty texture. They are known by several regional names, for instance Lima beans in Hindi are called ‘Sem Phali’ and Lima Beans in Tamil are called ‘Mochai’.  There are many health, skin and hair benefits associated with lima beans.. INGREDIENTS
Butter beans / mochai          - 1 cup
Brown rice                  - 1 cup
Methi seeds               - 1 tsp
Pepper                                    - 1 tbsp
Garlic                          - 10 cloves
Small onions              - 10 nos
Ginger                         - 1 inch piece
Cumin seeds              - 1 tsp
Salt                              - to taste
Oil or ghee                  - to cook butter bean / mochai  dosas









METHOD

Wash and Soak butter bean and brown rice together with methi seeds, pepper, and cumin seeds for  2 to 3 hours
Grind it with garlic, small onions and ginger to a fine paste.
Add salt and mix well.
Heat a dosa tawa and pour a ladle full of batter and spread it in circular motion from inside.
Drizzle a tsp of oil around the edges of dosa and cook for few seconds and flip over the other side and cook for a minute. 
Remove dosa from the pan and serve hot with sambar or chutney as you wish.
