CHOCOLATE POLI

Children’s day special- Unique  sweet chocolate  poli  from Sachu’s kitchen.  
We make coconut poli, puran poli with dhal and jiggery stuffing, coconut jiggery stuffing etc. But this poli is an unique, fusion  and tasty one made with chocolate  for children’s day. Both the outer layer of poli and stuffing of the poli is prepared with chocolate. This will be the most favorite one for kids and chocolate lovers. Try this Chocolate overloaded poli and put in your  feed back.

INGREDIENTS FOR OUTER LAYER

Whole wheat  flour        - 1 cup
Cocoa  powder              - ¼ cup
Milk                                 - 2 tbsps
Sugar                              -  3 tbsps
Vanilla essence              -1 tsp
Butter                             - 1 tbsp
Butter                            - 3 tbsps










INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING

 White chocolate                  - 100 grams
Grated coconut                    - 100 grams
Butter                                     - 1 tbsp
Rose essence                         - 1 tsp 

Butter for preparing polis.

INGREDIENTS FOR GARNISHING

Few tablespoons of coconut white chocolate poornam

METHOD FOR MAKING THE OUTER LAYER

Mix whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, sugar, milk and together.Add water and   prepare soft dough..
Apply butter generously on the dough  and cover with wet cloth and set aside for an hour.











METHOD FOR MAKING FILLING
Meanwhile  let’s  prepare stuffing for the poli.
Chop the white chocolate and melt it in the double boiler or in microwave oven till the chocolate gets shine melted fully.
Heat a pan adding a tablespoon of butter and add grated coconut and melted white chocolate and cook in a medium flame  for 2 to 3  minutes.
Add a tsp of rose essence and mix it well.
Allow it to cool.











METHOD FOR MAKING POLIS


Make equal sized ball of chocolate dough and the chocolate  pooran too.
Roll the chocolate dough into poori size and apply some butter on the poori, keep a tsp of filling and spread it over the chocolate pooris.
Roll another rchocolate poori and keep it on already spread poori with the filling and press gently the side of the pooris.
And make impression with the fork around the poories
Prepare polis with the remaining dough as above method.
Heat a dosa tawa and cook the polis in medium heat smearing butter around the poli.
Flip on the other side and cook the polis.
Remove from tawa and garnish it with white chocolate poornam.
Yummy chocolate overloaded chocolate poli is ready to serve.


METHOD OF MELTING THE CHOCOLATE

Pour a cup of water into a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Then place a heat-proof bowl on top of the pan and put the grated white chocolate into the bowl. Stir gently until the white chocolate is completely melted. Remove from the pan.
