When we go to restaurants most of
us like to have paneer tikka as a starter, paneer being everyone’s favourite
almost all of us order paneer dishes.For a change I have tried Tikkas with our
Kada Chakka /Bread Fruit. It turns out good. My elder son don’t like kada
chakka. Even he loves this tikka .Friends try out this Kada Chakka Tikka and
enjoy your vacation evening with an unique snack.
INGREDIENTS
Kada chakka /
bread fruit - 250 gms (cut
into square pieces)
Green bell
pepper - 2
nos
Onion -
1 no
Tomato -
1 no
INGREDIENTS FOR THE MARINATION
Hung curd -
1cup(200 gms)
Ginger garlic
paste -
1tbsp
Kashmiri chilli
powder - 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Cumin / jeera powder -1tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala
powder - 1 tsp
Aam choor / dry
mango powder - 1 tsp
Besan -
2 to 4 tbsps
Oil - 2 tbsps + 4 tbsps for frying
tikkas
Salt -
to taste
METHOD
Chop the kada
chakka/ bread fruit, bell peppers, onion, tomatoes into square shape.
Whisk the curd
till smooth adding ginger garlic paste, kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric
powder, cumin powder, coriander powder,garam masala powder, aam choor powder
and salt.
Add 2 tbsps of
oil in the above mixture.
Add the chopped
kada chakka/ bread fruit, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and the besan to the
curd mixture and allow it to marinate for 2 to 3 hours in the refrigerator.
Skewer the
veggies alternatively on skewers or in tooth picks.
Heat a non
stick flat pan heat oil and keep the
skewed kada chakka / bread fruit on the tava and fry it in low flame till it is
cooked.
Yummy kada
chakka / bread fruit tikka is ready to serve.
Arrange it on a plate
and serve.
If you like the chatty
taste sprinkle some chat masala on the tikkas.
Serve with mint
chutney.
