We
usually make pakoras with besan / kadalai maavu combined with onions or
vegetables.Here I have prepared healthy pakoras with healthy drumstick leaves
and corn flakes.A healthy, tasty and unique tea time snack for all in our
family.
INGREDIENTS
Gram
Flour / Kadalai Mavu – 1/2
cup to 3/4 cup
Rice Flour – 1/2 cup
large Onion – 1 no ( thinly sliced)
Washed and cleaned drumstick leaves - 1 to 1 /2 cups
Red Chillies – 4 nos
Powdered Plain corn flakes - 2 cups
Small onions - 10 nos
Garlic - 5 cloves
Salt - to taste
Chilli powder – 1 tblspn
Asafetida powder - ¼ tsp
Oil -for deep frying

Take
the plain corn flakes and powder it in a mixie by adding red chillies, garlic
and small onions. The texture of the powdered corn flakes will be little moistured. so when sprinkling water to the dough, be careful. add only if it is necessary.
METHOD
Mix
chopped onions, salt, chilli powder, asafetida powder and salt.
Add
gram flour, ricew flour and powdered cornflakes to the onion mixture and mix
well.
Sprinkle
some water and mix. Don’t add too much water.
Just
sprinkling one or two tsps of water is enough.
Heat
oil in a pan, take a big ball of dough in your hand and drop gooseberry size
dough into yhe hot oil.
(no
need to make in perfect shape)
Fry
the pakoras in medium flame, turning all over.
When
it becomes golden colour remove from oil and and keep over the colander to
drain the excess oil.
Unique
crispy drumstick leaves / murungai ilai corn flakes pakoras are ready to enjoy
your tea time.
NOTE
Use only plain corn flakes which we use for making corn flakes mixture
